The part of Lucy I probably love and understand the most is her perfectionism, her striving to constantly rehearse a gag until she had it right. The feeling of having this opportunity to express your inner self and talents and not wanting to screw it up. To go further, the “President of Desilu” Lucy is the side of her I admire the most, far more than any character. The first woman to run a major television studio, and doing so with flying colors. They didn’t call her “Lucille Balls” for nothing.
